This Is
Valley Roots
A different kind of youth soccer program — built on individual attention, European methodology, and athletic development that actually works.
Valley Roots Soccer is a 1-on-1 individual training program for youth players ages U8 through U12, based in Hanford, California. Every single session is built around one player and one coach — no groups, no waiting, no one-size-fits-all curriculum.
The program focuses on the three things that actually separate players at the foundational age: athletic development, ball memory, and game intelligence. These aren't extras tacked onto a skills session — they are the session.
Training is built on the Ajax Amsterdam TIPS methodology, the same development framework that has produced world-class players for over 50 years. Applied individually, in the Central Valley, it delivers the kind of concentrated development that group training simply cannot provide.
Valley Roots serves players from Hanford, Lemoore, Visalia, and the broader Kings County area. Sessions are personalized from day one — your player's starting point, their specific challenges, and their goals all shape how training is designed and how it progresses.
Group Training Gets You
Group Results
Most youth programs in Kings County are group sessions. One coach, 15+ players, generic drills. Players touch the ball 10–15 times per session. Coaches cannot give individual feedback. Every player gets the same thing regardless of where they are developmentally. Valley Roots is built on the opposite premise.
What We
Stand For
Athletic ability is the foundation that everything else is built on. Balance, agility, speed, core strength — these come before skill development. You cannot layer technical skills on top of a weak athletic base and expect them to hold under pressure.
Fewer, better sessions consistently outperform more, mediocre ones. One focused 1-on-1 session builds more than three group sessions with a fraction of the touches, no individual feedback, and zero personalization. We don't pad hours. We maximize them.
Coaching means immediate feedback on every touch — not running players through drills and watching from a distance. It means watching how a player moves, identifying the specific flaw, and correcting it in the moment. That's not supervision. That's actual coaching.
Every session builds on the last. We track what your player is working on, what they've mastered, and what comes next. Development is a deliberate sequence — not the same drills repeated week after week and called a curriculum.
